Our Environmental Policy
At Clear Route Limited we see a UKAS accredited ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) as the back bone of our environmental efforts. Our EMS is externally audited and certificated by EQA and we conduct regular internal audits to make sure we are constantly improving, meeting and surpassing our rigorous environmental objectives and targets.
Clear Route Limited work hard in our procurement department to try always select environmentally sustainable products and we only use waste management contractors who meet our high standards and requirements.
Of course we do inevitably produce waste in the everyday running of our business but we think it’s what happens to it that’s important.
Reduction of Waste to Landfill
As part of Clear Route Limited’s commitment to reducing volumes of waste to landfill we looked at what happens to our excavated materials. We identified that more of it could be recycled; as a result we partnered with a major DNO and a County Council in the South of England to develop, trial and implement a totally new form of recycled material (803) to jointly cut waste materials and replace our use of MOT Type 1.
Type 803 material is a combination of tarmac and concrete which is crushed and graded at Conway Limited’s plant in Dartford Kent, as a result of this scheme over a 3 month period we managed to recycle 90.75% of excavated material that would usually go to landfill into type 803.
Clear Route Limited is also committed to improving the environmental credentials of our fleet and all new vehicles are now bought with their practicality and environmental credentials as our top priority.
We hold the TFL FORS accreditation.
Additionally as a function of our bespoke Works Management System we can gather real time data on any or all our vehicles for instance average speed or fuel consumption analysis of this data enables us to plan routes / journeys more efficiently cutting down on harmful emissions.
