The Electricity network with this area of North London needed to be reinforced due to a number of operational performance issues with the existing network. The local DNO engaged Clear Route to undertake a “Desktop Study” to assess any proposed routes for new EHV and HV cables necessary for this reinforcement.

Solution

Of the four areas investigated, one proved to be impossible to be installed as designed due to concerns from the local authority regarding traffic obstruction and consequent disruption. Consequently further investigation took place to identify alternatives to the designed route, involving further site visits and consultation with landowners, authorities etc. An alternative was subsequently agreed amongst all parties involved.
