Setting Out Services
An extension to the Docklands Light Railway to London City Airport, required piers and structures to be constructed to support the elevated railway.
Solution
Clear Route was instructed to set out the position of supporting reinforced concrete piers for the length of the elevated section of this railway. This elevated portion comprised 3km of the total 4.4km length of the the extension. In addition, all supporting structures associated with the four station sites, also elevated, were set out prior to construction.
Once construction had started, Clear Route undertook extensive monitoring at each stage of the shuttering and concrete pouring process to ensure that the required accuracy within the horizontal and vertical axis was maintained.
